5-Day Western Caribbean from New Orleans on the Carnival Valor
Oct 31- Nov 5 2026
-
If your cruise is sailing out of New Orleans, welcome to the city where the party doesn’t warm up — it’s already in full swing. This is the birthplace of jazz, the home of hurricanes (the drink and the vibe), and the only port where your vacation starts with beads, brass bands, and beignets.
Before embarkation, wander the French Quarter for iron balconies and neon-lit bars, grab powdered-sugar-covered beignets at Café du Monde, and stroll down Bourbon Street where the music spills into the street and the drinks somehow keep refilling themselves. For a more local flavor, explore Frenchmen Street for live jazz clubs, art markets, and late-night dancing.
If you’ve got extra time, take a steamboat ride on the Mississippi River, pop into the Garden District for mansion gawking, or hop a swamp tour for a little Louisiana-style wildlife adventure. And when it’s time to board, the cruise terminals sit just minutes from downtown — meaning you can go from powdered sugar to pool deck in record time.
Because in New Orleans, your vacation doesn’t start when you sail away —
it starts the moment the brass band hits its first note. -
oday’s agenda? Absolutely everything and also nothing. Sleep in, grab a lido burger, find your favorite bar, and officially switch your phone into “what day is it?” mode. Explore the ship, book a spa treatment, test all the cocktails, and start practicing your Halloween costume walk. This is your day to roam, relax, and accidentally discover your new favorite onboard hangout.

8:00am-4:00pm
Welcome to Cozumel, where the water is impossibly blue, the margaritas are generous, and the vibe is pure island energy. Whether you’re here to explore, relax, or do a little of both, this port delivers every time.
Spend the day snorkeling or diving along Cozumel’s world-famous reefs, lounging at a beach club with your toes in the sand, or hopping in a taxi to San Miguel for local shops, street tacos, and souvenirs you definitely don’t need but absolutely want. If you’re feeling adventurous, book a jeep or ATV tour, explore ancient Mayan ruins, or sip tequila straight from the source on a tasting tour.
Back onboard, you’ll return sun-kissed, salty, and possibly carrying hot sauce in your bag — the universal sign of a successful Cozumel day.

8:00am - 4:00pm
Welcome to Progreso, where palm trees sway, the streets are pastel, and the tacos come with a side of sunshine. This laid-back Yucatán beach town is the perfect mix of chill beach day and ancient history adventure.
Kick back at a beach club along the Malecón, order a margarita, and let the warm Gulf breeze do its thing. If you’re craving culture, head inland to the legendary Mayan ruins of Chichén Itzá, explore colorful Mérida, or cool off in a crystal-clear cenote (aka nature’s most refreshing swimming pool).
By the time you head back to the ship, you’ll be salty, sun-glowy, and maybe carrying an extra woven bag full of souvenirs — because Progreso has a way of sneaking into your heart.
-
Things are getting delightfully weird today. Expect creepy cocktails, costume sightings, pop-up dance parties, photo ops that belong on your camera roll forever, and that “how is it already midnight?” feeling. Whether you’re haunting the pool deck or dancing with strangers who feel like lifelong friends, today is when Halloween at Sea fully comes alive.
-
And just like that… it’s time to trade ocean views for reality again. Grab one last coffee, take a final stroll around the ship, and soak in those “how was this week real life?” feelings. Exchange hugs, swap socials, and promise to meet up on the next sailing (because you absolutely will).
Disembarkation might mean the cruise is ending — but the memories, the friendships, and the group chat you’re about to start are just getting warmed up. Until next time… same sea, same crew, new adventures waiting.
